There were many things onboard a ship that could used as a weapon. Some are obvious, others not so obvious. This section will not try to exhaust all make-shift weapons. Anchor chains, nails, screws, lines, a boot, what have you. The section will look a the common items that were quickly seized in the heat of battle or mutiny. Think of it as a top five or six items you would want to grab if you didn't have a cutlass, pistol or musket.
